A Community of Disciples on Mission
Above all, we are disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. Brought together by God, we desire to respond to God's call to know him and his love and to love him and make him loved.
We want to know the Lord and make him known.
We aspire to imitate the Lord Jesus, by the power of the Holy Spirit, and offer our lives fully to him as we obey his commission to make disciples of all nations. We express our discipleship through worshipping together and individually, daily prayer and Scripture study, and offering our lives in service to God and his people.
Family life, shared worship, and a wider fellowship.
God's Light is a Christian, charismatic and missionary community based in Sydney, Australia. Composed mostly of families, we currently count 56 people among our adult membership. Together with brothers and sisters from other The Sword of the Spirit (SOS) communities in various parts of the world, we are bonded by a common way of life and mission that we believe the Lord uses to sanctify us and others.
Most of our current members come from Christian backgrounds, and we embrace ecumenism and brothers and sisters from other Christian denominations. Central to our identity is the communal and private praise and worship of the Lord. We seek to live as radical disciples of the Lord Jesus and offer our lives and all resources we have received from the Lord to respond to his call to be his light and draw others closer to him.
What we desire to live and proclaim.
We desire to love God with all our being and to know and obey his will. We want to be used by him and to fulfil the mission he has given us.
- To live lives according to his statutes laid out in Scriptures, handed down through Christian traditions and pronounced by the Church
- To pursue holiness and be a light that will testify to God's love, mercy, faithfulness and goodness
- To spread the Gospel wherever and whenever the Spirit leads
- To be a part of the bulwark that SOS communities are forming to stem the tide of evil and advance God's kingdom here on earth
